The Thames Trio are experienced professional musicians who have worked together in various bands for a number of years. In 2004 they decided to concentrate on the trio format, playing in more intimate settings. They are now enjoying considerable success in prestigious hotels and restaurants and at private functions throughout the Thames Valley.

The band’s smooth sound is built around the mellow tones of the drummer’s vocals. They are known especially for their tasteful performance of golden standards from the “Great American Songbook” by composers such as George Gershwin, Cole Porter, Jerome Kern, and Rodgers and Hart. However, if the occasion demands they can move up a gear for some of those ever-popular rock’n’roll hits — you just have to dance!

The Thames Trio truly engage with the audience through their lively repartee, openness to requests, and ability to fit the music to the mood. When appropriate the basic trio can be augmented with saxophone, clarinet, and/or keyboards.
